A solution to connect students to Jordan Springs High School
I am pleased to announce that a temporary local road will be built to finally connect Ropes Crossing with Jordan Springs in time for the opening of the new high school.
Like many of you, I have been frustrated by the lack of progress on the construction of the Connector Road. The situation has been unacceptable for far too long.
Working with Premier Chris Minns, Lendlease and Penrith City Council, a solution has been developed that will deliver a temporary connection by the end of the year.
The road will run north from the completed section of the Connector Road and connect to Armoury Road via Infantry St, on the south side of the new Jordan Springs High School site.
This will give families and students coming from Ropes Crossing direct and quicker access to Jordan Springs High School when it opens on day 1, Term 1, next year.
It will remain in place until the completion of the remaining section of the permanent, East-West Connector Road, which Lendlease aims to have finished by the middle of next year and which will become the long-term connection.
I have pushed hard on your behalf to get this done.
But after years of uncertainty, I am pleased that we now have a clear path forward — and a solution that will deliver the connection that our community has waited a long time for.
There is more to do, and I will not stop working to deliver access to a world class education for our children.
