BETTER SCHOOLS FOR OUR CHILDREN

When I was elected in 2015, I said I wanted to ensure every child had access to a great education.

Now, the Minns Labor Government is delivering better schools and more teachers to give our kids the flying start they deserve.

BETTER SCHOOLS FOR WESTERN SYDNEY

After 12 years of delays and broken promises by the former Liberal National Government, we’ve already delivered a brand-new high school for Melonba and delivered the brand new Melonba Public school ahead of schedule.

Now, we’re investing $13.1 billion into public education including $8.9 billion for new and upgraded schools.

This funding is supporting the construction of the brand-new public high school in Jordan Springs that we’ve been fighting for as a community and vital maintenance being delivered at Ropes Crossing Public School.

MORE TEACHERS FOR OUR CHILDREN

Before we took office, 10,000 classes were being cancelled across NSW public schools each week.

We’ve nearly halved that number by getting more teachers into the class room by reducing teacher vacancies by 40 per cent.

We’re making progress but I know there’s still more work to do. I’ll keep working with Premier Chris Minns to deliver better schools for our children.
